CD Slide Show

Our scans and Slide Shows can either be on a CD that is playable in a DVD player and in a PC computer or on a DVD-R slide show disk. It is up to you, our customer.

Here are some things that our customers can expect from our VCD2 CD slide show:

We want the highest possible quality for display on TV.
Once scanned the now digitized images will be available from the disk so that a person can take the disk to a One Hour Photo and they can take the images off the disk and make prints. A person can also download the images to their computer and manipulate them or do whatever they want with them.
We want a slide show that is playable on a TV set through a DVD player.
We want a slide show that is playable on PC computers.

On point # 1, our CD slide show has the same visual quality as that on any DVD slide show because we use the VCD2 format.
On point # 2, our CD slide show makes the original scans available for usage from the disk.
On point # 3, both CD slide show and DVD slide show are playable on a compatible DVD player.
On point # 4, our CD slide show plays on a PC computer where the DVD slide show does not unless you have a DVD player.
Another benefit of having the slide show on the CD is that you can easily copy the disks on most any computer and then share the disks with family and friends. DVD copies would be much more expensive and difficult to make

The main downside to the VCD slide show is that the disk only holds about 310 images compared to the DVD slide show disk that holds about 650 images. We also do not put music on the VCD disks and we do put the music on the DVD disk. While these VCD disks will play on most players, there are some players that are not set up to play the VCD format. If you want this type of disk, make sure your player can play the VCD format disks. Your owner's manual should tell you if it has this feature.

We can put your slide show on a DVD-R disk and it will play on your DVD player and it will store the images on the disk . Make sure you check this option on our order form, if that is what you want.
