Photo Album Scanning:
Individual Pages

What if your pictures are in photo albums and you don't want to take them out of the albums but you still want to digitize them? We can help.
If the pages of your album will come out and the photos are not covered with any kind of plastic sheeting, we can scan the photos without removing them from the pages. We will have to charge $2 extra per photo album page but this includes scanning the full page and then separating the individual photos and preparing the images in Photoshop®. There is a lot of extra work here and we may have to adjust the $2 per page price if it is taking us too much time but, for right now and until further notice, we will stick with that price. Once your job is in the shop, we will stick with whatever we quote you for pricing.
If the photos are in plastic, you will have to take them out. We can't scan through the plastic and it wouldn't work to just pull the plastic back for scanning.
Each picture on the Photo Album page will also be subject to our usual scanning prices. Just count all the pictures in your photo album and figure out your costs and then add $2 per album page.
Our advice to you is to take the pictures out of the pages and save any extra charges from us. If you number the pictures on the back to keep track of where they go in the album, do the marking in pencil and not ink. We had numerous customers who have ruined a good part of their photo collection by marking with a permanent magic marker on the backs of the photos. On many of the photos, the ink offset onto the picture below. Please avoid this heartbreaking situation. Use pencil.
Many people find a way of cutting the album page apart without damaging the photos on either side. In most cases, you can safely get the pictures off the page by wedging a razor blade under the photo and gently pulling on the photo. The paper page usually rips before the picture will. So you will end up with a photo with some black paper on the back.
