We Sent The Same Slides To Different Slide Scanning Companies
These scans, directly below, are from a "127" Super Slide. Costco doesn't even scan these slides. We sent it in with our sample order and Costco sent it back with a note saying that they can't scan them. This slide had a lot of problems with dye fading. Our original scan looked similar in color to the Walgreens scan but, that was before we did the color corrections that they did not do.

See Walgreen's "127" scan, below. It was cropped down when they scanned it and you do not get the whole slide. They didn't even crop it cleanly. The slide was faded and looked like this, to start with, in our scan as well. This was certainly a problem slide. They just did nothing to try to restore the colors. We try to restore colors on every scan and lots of slides need our help. Walgreen's scan is cropped down because they can only scan a 35mm slide, which is a rectangle. "127" slides are squares. You lose a lot when you crop a square into a rectangle. At least Costco was honest enough to admit that they couldn't do the scan properly.
Yes, this was a tough slide to scan. We passed this test with flying colors and they failed amazingly.
