Excel's AutoComplete Function

Turn AutoComplete On or Off
To turn AutoComplete on or off, follow these steps:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
2. To allow automatic completion, click to select the Enable AutoComplete for cell values check box. To prevent automatic completion, click to clear the check box.

AutoComplete will work to the point where you type the same text that is in the column above the cell you are typing in. If you type in "auto" and you have "auto" and "autocomplete" in your column, you will not get the "autocomplete" completion option until you type in "autoc".

If there are ANY blank cells in the column, it screws up the AutoComplete function.

If you want to display the list of selections for AutoComplete, press Alt and Down Arrow at the same time.
