3D View-Master Reel Scanning Service
Have personal (non-copyrighted) View-Master reels you’d like to see and share digitally? We scan each reel at 4,000 ppi, enhance the images, and save individual JPGs organized by reel.
What you get: high-quality JPG files (saved at a high setting), basic enhancement, and per-reel folder organization on disk. You can copy files to your computer, print at home, or take the disk to a local photo lab.
Copyright policy: We scan personal, family reels only. We will not scan commercial, travel, or cartoon reels under any circumstances.
Workflow & numbering: Each reel contains seven pairs of films; we scan one from each pair. Files are numbered in “film order” where possible (1–7). If you need a different viewing sequence, rename the files on your computer.
Pricing note: Due to manual handling, View-Master reels cost more than standard 35mm slides. Charges are per reel, regardless of missing films; bulk pricing isn’t available for this format.
About dust: the films are very small and scanners must be zoomed in, so any dust can appear prominent. Please wipe films gently with a very soft cloth before sending. We use a light puff of air before scanning, but cannot guarantee dust-free results. We do not provide chemical cleaning or drum scanning.
Rounded-corner trimming: Our normal service is to trim off rounded corners. If trimming would remove important image content, we will leave the corners in place to preserve the scene.
View-Master reels were first marketed for travel and scenic subjects and viewed in a special 3D viewer. A pair of images, captured with lenses spaced roughly like human eyes, creates a convincing three-dimensional effect. Ownership of the View-Master brand has changed through the decades; modern reels are often character-based and aimed at children. We digitize only your personal reels so you can preserve and share family memories.
